Production delays and pushing back release dates have become the norm in the auto industry, but Mazda is doing just the opposite. The Mazda MX-5 RF is here well ahead of schedule and just in time for the holidays!
The 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF brings a power-operated hard targa top that replaces the soft-top convertible. This hardtop roadster starts at $31,555 and brings a few changes from the standard model.
The MX-5 RF brings the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as the standard Miata. The hardtop obviously replaces the soft top, and a new color display gauge separates from two. In total, the hardtop adds about 100 pounds to the total curb weight. Drivers can choose from a selection of two trims and between a manual or automatic transmission.
The standard rear-wheel drive isn’t great for winter roadways, but that means there are more to go around. Around 500 models will arrive at dealerships and availability will grow from there.
The new Mazda MX-5 RF is here a whole two months earlier than originally scheduled. Mazda cites production shifts and schedule changes for the early arrival.
We here at Mazda of Lake Charles certainly aren’t complaining about the MX-5 RF’s early arrival!
