Mazda Drive for Good Event Raises Nearly $5 Million

As a result of the Mazda Drive for Good event, Mazda was able to donate nearly $5 million to charities across the country. In addition to that, Mazda employees and dealers donated more than 66,000 in service hours. If that doesn’t show that Mazda cares, we don’t know what does.

The Mazda Drive for Good Event is an annual fundraiser which ran from November 21st to January 2nd. According to Mazda, it donated $150 of every car sold to one of four national or 44 local charities, with the choice of the charity left up to the customer.

“We could not have asked for better results from this year’s event,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North America. “The growth seen in monetary donations and volunteer service hours are a welcomed increase. It allows Mazda’s employees, dealers and business partners to lend a helping hand and participate in constructive and engaging ways, helping their community throughout the year.”

The four national charities Mazda donated to were the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and Mazda Foundation. The exact total was $4,937,850, nearly an 80% increase from last year.

At Mazda of Lake Charles, we’re really glad to be part of such a good cause that helps so many people. If you’d like to contribute or volunteer with us, don’t hesitate to contact us!
