When a car model is as beloved as the Mazda MX-5, it’s important to give the masses an easy way to interact with the newest model, even if they can’t test drive it. To create the perfect 2016 MX-5 launch, Mazda has teamed up with Xbox for the second year in a row to provide Forza Horizon 2 players an interactive experience on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Along with this experience, players can also enter the Mazda MX-5 Livery Design Contest, which allows them to design the livery for the 1994 Mazda MX-5 that is currently used in-game.
“In addition to shining the spotlight on the 2016 Mazda MX-5 through the partnership, we also wanted to give Forza fans a way to engage and pickup some cool prizes and see their work featured in the game,” said Russell Wager, vice president of marketing for Mazda North America. “Fans of the Mazda MX-5 are some of the most passionate enthusiasts out there and we look forward to seeing the creativity that comes from this contest.”
The Livery Design Contest is going on now through January 4th, 2015. Two finalists will have the opportunity to attend South by Southwest 2015
in March for the final design showdown. The winner of the competition will be awarded a new 55-inch curved TV, audio music system, Xbox One Kinect console, and a MadCatz Racing Wheel.
